After approximately six months as the interim director of the Hill City Area Chamber of Commerce, Janet Wetovick-Bily was named the official executive director.
“I’m pleased and privileged to be here,” she said. “Hill City is a great community and it’s got a lot of great people. From the moment I drove through it, I knew that if I ever had the chance to work here in the Hills, that this was the only place I wanted to work.”
Wetovick moved from Nebraska to the Black Hills in late 2010 and was hired as a visitor information specialist at the Hill City Visitor Information Center three years ago.
After Angela Raderschadt stepped down as events coordinator in 2015, the then executive director Jerry Cole recommended Wetovick for the position. However, when Cole announced his resignation, the board asked Wetovick if she was interested in taking over as interim director. She enthusiastically accepted.
