In less than two weeks, the Ranger Field Renovation Committee (RFRC) has brought in $46,675 in donations. Major donations were received from Vic and Sherryl Alexander Enterprises with $10,000, Nelson’s Oil and Gas with $5,000, Leland Hook gave $5,000 and Lloyd Paulson donated $15,000.
In addition, the Hill City Senior Citizens Center received $1,555 of donations from individuals, which they then matched for a total donation of $3,110. This brought the total donations through the senior center to $7,076.
The RFRC also saw 23 individuals who gave donations ranging from $20-$500, which totaled just under $4,000. For RFRC member Mike Welu, this proves that no donation is too small, as more modest donations can add up to significant dollar amounts.
“It was a strong 10 days of fundraising,” Welu said. “But we are still significantly short of our goal to begin construction June 1. We continue to urge the community to consider donating to this community improvement project.”
In addition to donations already received, the RFRC also continues to work on soliciting bigger donations from companies in the Black Hills.
