Amy (Kessler) George graduated from the Berean Christian School in Custer, S.D., in 1985. She also graduated from Gordon College in Massachusetts in 1989 and from the University of Nebraska Medical School in 1993. During medical school she met and married Allen George, who shared her desire to be a medical missionary. In 2000, they moved to Peru, where they provided medical care to the natives in Abancay and Arequipa, started churches and taught Bible classes.
Amy, of Arequipa, Peru, died May 5, 2016, after a 12-year battle with brain cancer. She was 48.
She is survived by her husband Allen; four children, Sarah, Ben, Mia and Paul; parents, Dick and Betty Lou Kessler of Custer; sister, Julie Tullberg and family of Oahu, Hawaii; and brother, Michael Kessler and family of Pullman, Wash.
Services will be held in Peru and at Christ Community Church in Omaha, Neb.
